Investigation Log – V. Grant, Day 8

David Novak is, if nothing else, a fascinating man. Our conversation wandered more than it revealed, yet I cannot say it was without value. Some people offer answers. Others offer perspective. He belongs to the latter.

His stand, notably, remained untouched by the fire. Another detail that does not quite settle where it should.

Later, in the supply room, I came across an additional lock. Out of place. Recently fitted, I would wager. When I reached to examine it, a sharp electric shock ran through my hand. Sudden enough to make me pull back at once.

Carelessness on my part, perhaps.

Or something else.

Was it merely faulty wiring… or a warning? A deterrent placed deliberately? And if so, for whom?

I cannot shake the thought that someone is not only aware of my investigation, but of my movements, step by step.
Felix next!
