Investigation Log – V. Grant, Day 15
At last, I find myself back on the right path.
My conversation with Isabella Rossi brought more clarity than I expected. Not in obvious answers, but in the way certain details began to connect. I am getting closer. I can feel it.
And so can someone else.
The tail has returned. More present than before. Less careful. I no longer question it. I am being followed.
Strangely, I take this as confirmation.
A thought came to me while examining what remains of Sophia’s booth. Or rather, what does not remain. How fortunate that her true work takes place elsewhere, untouched. Convenient.
Too convenient.
And she is not alone.
Those who suffered from the fire share something peculiar. None of them seem truly burdened by it. There is always a gain, a quiet advantage, something that softens the loss.
Luck, they call it.
But repeated often enough, luck begins to look like design.
Yes… I am back on track.
I will visit Benjamin Taylor at the bookshop next.
