Investigation Log – V. Grant, Day 11
Madison Clark is a woman of true craftsmanship. There is honesty in her work, and, I believe, in her words as well.
She proved more helpful than expected. A small detail, casually mentioned, concerning one of the suspects and their dealings with a local politician. Enough to remove one name from my list. A rare satisfaction.
Her shop suffered greatly in the fire, yet she spoke of it without bitterness. That alone tells me something.
She suggested I speak with Lena Fischer next. Another whose livelihood was touched by the flames. It seems a sensible direction.
For the first time in days, I feel a measure of calm returning. The sense of being followed has faded, and with it, some of the tension that had begun to cloud my judgment. Perhaps I was right not to act on it too quickly.
Felix’s offer still stands, but for now, I will remain at Mont Royal.
