Investigation Log – V. Grant, Day 10

Mia Novak was pleasant, though it was her mother who left the stronger impression. A remarkable woman. Warm, attentive. One almost forgets the purpose of the visit in her presence. Perhaps it is not only the pies that draw me back here.

For the first time in days, the feeling of being followed has subsided. No footsteps, no lingering shadows. Was it truly there… or has fatigue begun to play its tricks on me?

Mia mentioned that Madison Clark’s wool shop suffered greatly in the fire. A loss of that kind often reveals more than words alone.

I will speak with her next.
